Poznań is a city on the Warta river. It is the capital of the Greater Poland which is a large region in west-central Poland.
The city Poznań has a long history. It is related to beginning of polish country in the tenth century. The oldest part of the city is the Cathedral Island (see the cathedral in Poznań in the picture below).
The true heart of the city centre is the Old Market Square with a renaissance Town Hall. It comes from the sixteenth century and also today the Old Market Square in Poznań is a meeting place for residents and tourists both during day and night.
Another woth seeing monument near the Old Market Square is St Stanislaw’s parish church in Poznań. It comes from the seventeenth century and it is one of the most monumental baroque churches in Poland.
